Mint FXRP

Turn your XRP into programmable FXRP

Minting deposits your XRP through the FAssets protocol and puts an equivalent amount of FXRP, an ERC-20 token you can use across Flare DeFi, into your Flare wallet.

What minting FXRP means

Minting FXRP means depositing native XRP through the FAssets protocol, which verifies that deposit on the XRP Ledger and creates an equivalent amount of FXRP in your Flare wallet. FXRP is an ERC-20 token backed 1:1 by the XRP you deposited, and it stays redeemable back to native XRP at any time. Once it arrives in your wallet, FXRP behaves like any other Flare token, so you can trade it, use it as collateral, or stake it, without needing to sell or move your original XRP through an exchange.

Before you start

  • An XRP Ledger wallet holding the XRP you want to mint with.
  • A Flare-compatible wallet to receive FXRP into, separate from the XRP Ledger wallet you deposit from, since FXRP is an ERC-20 token rather than a native XRP Ledger asset.
  • A small amount of FLR in that Flare wallet to cover transaction fees, since minting and later using FXRP both require gas on Flare.
  • The current minimum mint amount and gas cost, checked on your chosen dApp: neither figure is published in Flare’s own documentation, so treat whatever the dApp shows at the time as the current terms.
  • Alternatively, Flare Smart Accounts lets you deposit XRP into curated Flare vaults, including the Firelight Vault, straight from the wallet you already use with a single signature, without a separate minting dApp or manual bridging.

How to mint FXRP, step by step

  1. Open your chosen minting dApp, making sure you are on its official site, and connect the XRP Ledger wallet holding the XRP you want to deposit.
  2. Connect or create a Flare-compatible wallet to receive the FXRP the dApp will mint for you.
  3. Enter the amount of XRP you want to deposit and review the deposit address and network shown by the dApp.
  4. Confirm the deposit transaction from your XRP Ledger wallet.
  5. Wait for the dApp to show that your XRP deposit has been verified on the XRP Ledger.
  6. Confirm the equivalent amount of FXRP has arrived in your Flare wallet, ready to use across Flare DeFi.

Where to mint FXRP

FXRP can be minted through any of the four dApps below, each running its own interface to the same underlying FAssets minting process. They are listed alphabetically, not ranked, and none is recommended over another.

  • AU

Deposit XRP and mint FXRP directly through AU's interface.

  • Luminite

Deposit XRP and mint FXRP directly through Luminite's interface.

  • Oracle Daemon

Deposit XRP and mint FXRP directly through Oracle Daemon's interface.

  • Oxen Flow

Deposit XRP and mint FXRP directly through Oxen Flow's interface.

Timing, fees and limits

Flare has not published a standardized confirmation time, gas cost, or minimum and maximum mint amount that applies across every minting dApp. The table below states that gap directly rather than inventing figures, so check the numbers shown by your chosen dApp before you confirm a deposit.

What to watch out for when minting

Minting depends on the FAssets protocol correctly verifying your XRP deposit on the XRP Ledger before any FXRP is created, so a deposit sent to the wrong address or the wrong network will not mint FXRP and may not be recoverable. Confirm the deposit address and network shown by your chosen dApp before you send XRP, since Flare cannot reverse a transaction sent to an incorrect destination. Gas costs and available mint capacity can vary between dApps and change over time, so check the current terms on the dApp itself rather than assuming they match an earlier visit. FXRP stays redeemable for native XRP through the FAssets protocol, but the protocol’s decentralized agent and collateral model does not eliminate smart contract risk.

What to do next

  • Put your FXRP to work by staking it with Firelight to back DeFi cover and earn a share of protocol emissions, keeping in mind that staked deposits are subject to slashing and exits take time.
  • Read about stXRP before you decide whether to stake, since staking is optional and not the only way to use freshly minted FXRP.
  • See live Flare DeFi strategies FXRP can be used in beyond staking, including trading, lending, and liquidity provision.
  • Compare the minimum mint amount and gas cost shown by each dApp listed above before you deposit, since neither figure is standardized by Flare and both can differ between dApps.

Frequently asked questions

You need an XRP Ledger wallet holding the XRP you want to deposit, a Flare-compatible wallet to receive FXRP, and a small amount of FLR in that wallet to cover transaction fees. Check your chosen dApp for its current minimum mint amount.

Minting takes as long as the FAssets protocol needs to verify your XRP deposit on the XRP Ledger before FXRP is created. Flare has not published a standard confirmation time, so check the estimate shown by your chosen dApp before you deposit.

Flare has not published a single minimum mint amount that applies across every dApp. Each minting dApp sets and displays its own minimum on its own interface, so check the figure shown before you deposit rather than assuming one dApp’s minimum applies to another.

Yes. FXRP stays redeemable for native XRP through the FAssets protocol at any time. Redeeming reverses minting: FXRP is burned on Flare and the equivalent native XRP is released back to your XRP Ledger address.

Each dApp listed provides its own interface to the same FAssets minting process: deposit XRP, verify it on the XRP Ledger, receive FXRP. Exact screens, fees, and minimums differ by dApp, so review the current terms on the one you choose.

Your XRP is held by the FAssets protocol’s decentralized agents as collateral for the FXRP minted against it, not by a single custodian. Full technical detail on the collateral model is available at dev.flare.network.

No. Minting creates new FXRP by depositing your own XRP through the FAssets protocol, so the amount of FXRP in circulation increases. Buying FXRP on a decentralized exchange instead trades existing FXRP that someone else already minted, without touching your own XRP on the XRP Ledger at all.
